TotaLyse™ Protein Extraction Reagent with Ionase™ ST Nuclease is a complete bacterial protein extraction solution that combines rapid cell lysis with salt-tolerant nucleic acid digestion for Gram-negative and multiple Gram-positive bacterial species. It efficiently liberates soluble proteins while reducing lysate viscosity under physiological and high-salt conditions—providing a faster, more effective, and less expensive alternative to leading protein extraction reagents.

TotaLyse reduces lysate viscosity in as little as five minutes at salt concentrations up to 1 M and completely digests nucleic acids within 20 minutes at room temperature. The resulting clarified extracts are compatible with common downstream protein-purification methods, including dialysis for removal of included detergents, heat treatment, ammonium sulfate precipitation and column chromatography.
