DirecTaq™ DNA Polymerase

Varizymes' DirecTaq DNA Polymerase is a recombinant, truncated, highly thermostable DNA polymerase from the thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus. The enzyme lacks 5’ to 3’ exonuclease activity and is therefore not suitable for TaqMan PCR. The enzyme is thermostable up to 98 °C and is highly active even in unpurified samples (e.g., whole blood). It is supplied with 4 M betaine to improve amplification of GC-rich DNA and 30% sucrose to improve amplification of inhibitor-rich substrates, such as blood.
